Project Citizen

Reading what those 5th and 8th graders did to help out their school really makes me feel so bad. There are many things in my school and community that need to be changed, but instead of trying to change them I just sit back, complain ,and let things stay as they are. These kid excelled themselves passed their grade level, doing things that some adult are to lazy to do today. If the kids, parents or even alumni that went to South Park Middle School did something like this, then there wouldn't be a problem in getting the city to tear the school down and build a new one. As we can see anything is possible and there is no age limit to the involvement in the government, and reading this about the middle school kids should make everyone get involved and start changing things that need to be changed.

My Candidate

If i had was to create the perfect canidate they would stand for equal right for the people, and for the people having a say in the government, but not to much. The reason being is that the government is for the people so let them say their opoinion, but they can't have too much control because it would get hecktic. This would make them a liberal because they would stand for peoples rights. My candidate wouldn't condone abortion, but it would be up to the mother to decide whether she wanted the kid. The war in iraq would slowly but surely come to an end. The reason he wouldnt take them out fast is because we're already there and we have to let them get use to not having our troops there and because they still need protection. Education would be one of the top priorities, which would make this one of the most supported. He would fund NCLB (no child left behind) because he would hope by doing that it would take most of the "thugs" or "gansters" off of the streets and into colleges. He would make it easier for ordinary students to get into colleges. He would try to make it easier for immigrants to become legal in the states. He would also try to help those who are fighting to get over here. Health Care would be the top priority because everybody needs good health to live. He would try to get companies to fund the program, and people who make alot of money. It would mostly look like Obama's proposal. Gay marriages would be left up to the states., he wouldn't want to make it a major problem for the federal government.

NO FRYING

I believe that no person on earth is allowed to kill another person. Althought, the brutality of the crimes they commit we shouldn't go back and do the same thing back to them. Its like were contrudicting ourselves. Let thier gods or our God decide what to do with them. I say just leave them to rott in prison for the rest of their lives.

President Carter

I do believe that President Carter had a point because if it was anyother President and when they address congress no one has ever had an outburst calling the head of state a lier. Its funny how he is doing some of the same things that Presidents in the past have done but all of a sudden its a problem. There is still racism today and untill people realize that then they will never be able to understand the truth. Some "whites" just don't want to accept the fact that a minority is over them and untill he's out they wont stopmessing with him.
No I don't believe that they are doing what is right. He has the right of speech, but he is really abusing that right. It seems like everytime he says something it is so ignorant. The funny thing about it though is that he been doin that, like when he said "Bush dont like black people" everybody was behind him..........oh but now since he hurt Taylor Swift feelings he's a bad man.

Obama's Speech

The stated goal in President Obama's speech was to get the youth of today to take education more seriously and to never give up on what they want to do in life. I believe that for the goal to be reached it also take cooperation from the parent at home, the teachers a school supporting and keeping the words that Obama said freash on the kids minds, but most of all it has to come from within the student that sits in the classroom. For a President, the first African American President at that to come on and address you and show you how concerned and encouraging he is gives you momentum and makes you want to go ou there and do your best becase you think if he can make it then so can I. When I sat in my class and I watched and listened to the word that Obama was saying, it reassured me that no matter what I've been through that I can still succeed. His encouraging words just mad eme wanna work harder to reach my goal. I believe that it put kids in reality that most people don't have the blessings of becoming a pro basketball plaer or a rapper, but with an education you have a solid backup plan and can become anything that you want.

Welcome Back

I believe that the Constitution is as useful as we the people make it. If it wasn't I belive that there would still be restrictions on the thing that us African Americans are able to do. So the phrase "all men are created equally" is trully being followed. The historic moment that revealed that to us all is the election of our African American President Barack Obama.
